Viisage CEO to Deliver Addresses Examining Face Recognition in Commerc

    BILLERICA, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 2005--Viisage (NASDAQ: VISG), a leading provider of advanced technology identity solutions, today announced that Viisage CEO and president Bernard Bailey will deliver two addresses at Intersec 2005 on Sunday, January 16th in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Intersec is the largest comprehensive security and safety event in the Middle East, providing a forum for commercial enterprises and law enforcement in the Middle East to present, meet and discuss the most relevant security issues for the region. Mr. Bailey will be speaking about the role of face recognition for large scale commercial and law enforcement identity solutions.
    Mr. Bailey's initial discussion, "Proving Identity: Face Recognition and Today's Identity Solutions," will examine how individuals use their identities daily, how the role of identity has changed with the advent of new technologies, and the role that face recognition biometric technology can play to ensure a claimed identity is authentic. The session will touch on case studies from the U.S. Department of Defense and the Pakistani Passport Program, which are Viisage deployments and representative of the Company's growing global presence.
    The second session, entitled "A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words: Face Recognition Technology & Law Enforcement," will demonstrate how a combination of face recognition and wireless technologies provides law enforcement officers with the ability to verify an individual's identity in the office or out in the field.
