"Sunkist Soda has had great vibes from 'Good Vibrations' since the brand was first introduced in 1978 with the classic Beach Boys song," said Tony Jacobs, vice president of brand marketing for Sunkist Soda. "By remaking the song with the Gym Class Heroes' beats, we're continuing to link an American music classic to Sunkist -- the classic orange soda -- for a new generation."

The new Sunkist Soda ad campaign featuring "Good Vibrations" launched April 30 during prime time on the CW Network. The 30-second spot opens with a vibrant array of individuals dancing it up at a Sunkist house party. The commercial cuts to animated oranges that discuss the benefits of Sunkist and express a desire to hang out with the Sunkist crowd. The entire commercial exudes fun, excitement and youthfulness, with a touch of "Good Vibrations."

As part of Sunkist's ongoing integrated partnership with the CW Network, the updated version of "Good Vibrations" will also be featured on an episode of the hit show "One Tree Hill," which will air on May 9.

During that "One Tree Hill" episode, Sunkist will launch an online sweepstakes promotion driving consumers to http://www.drinksharewin.com/ for the chance to win a Gym Class Heroes VIP concert experience with 15 guests or numerous orange-themed prizes including -- 100 Epiphone guitars signed by the Gym Class Heroes, 150 Motorola RZR phones, 150 iPod players and Nanos, music downloads and more.

Consumers can enter the sweepstakes by logging onto http://www.drinksharewin.com/. Once registered, entrants can enter a special code found under specially marked Sunkist bottle caps, 12-packs, 2-liters or by e-mail request.

"We're truly excited to be part of a history-making moment by re-introducing 'Good Vibrations' to Sunkist and 'One Tree Hill' fans," said Travis McCoy, lead singer of Gym Class Heroes.

Decaydance/Fueled by Ramen recording group Gym Class Heroes recently locked on to the top of the charts with its smash single, "Cupid's Chokehold / Breakfast in America," featured on their breakthrough album "As Cruel As School Children." The signature lyric and melody of the Supertramp classic tune, "Breakfast in America," was originally written by Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies, and has reached a new audience of music fans with Gym Class Heroes' remake of the song. The Geneva, NY-based band melds elements of hip-hop, rock, R&B, and pop into one unified and melodic sound. A remarkably dedicated live act, Gym Class Heroes are lead vocalist Travis McCoy, guitarist Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo, bassist Eric Roberts, and drummer Matt McGinley. Gym Class Heroes' remake of "Good Vibrations" is featured on "The Road Mix: Music From The Television Series One Tree Hill, Vol. 3."

In 1978, the original "Good Vibrations," sung by the Beach Boys, was used to introduce consumers to "The Sunkist Soda Taste Sensation." In 1981, Sunkist Orange Soda became one of the ten best selling carbonated soft drinks in the United States. Today, the tradition continues; Sunkist and Diet Sunkist, sold by Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages, continue to lead the orange soda category.

The song "Good Vibrations" has been an American summertime anthem for more than 40 years. Here's a few fun facts that to put you in an orange state of mind:

-- Beach Boy Brian Wilson came up with the idea for "Good Vibrations" after his mom told him that dogs pick up "vibrations" from people. -- The Song "Good Vibrations" is counted as one of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "500 that Shaped Rock and Roll" list. -- "Good Vibrations" was released on The Beach Boys' 1966 hit album "Smiley Smile" -- it was the group's third U.S. number one hit after "I Get Around" and "Help Me, Rhonda." -- The single sold more than 230,000 copies in the first four days of its release.
