Verifone And Samsung Collaborate To Develop Android-Based MPOS - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Verifone (PAY) and Samsung announced a global partnership that will deliver Android-based mobile point of sale (mPOS) solutions to multi-lane and enterprise retailers. The initial offering will be introduced later in the current year, which will create a mPOS system featuring: Ruggedized Samsung Galaxy Tab Active tablet with 8-inch screen; enhanced security with Verifone'spoint-to-point encryption of payment data, coupled with Samsung's Knox mobile device security.

The new offering will also support Verifone's Secure Commerce Architecture solution, which eliminates the flow of consumer payment data into the merchant's integrated point of sale (IPOS) system, and enables encrypted delivery of the data from the mPOS terminal directly to the merchant's processor.
