Vc Q2 Profit Falls, Yet Tops Estimates

(RTTNews) - Boston Private Financial Holdings Inc (BPFH) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net earnings to common stockholders of $16.5 million or $0.20 per share compared with $20.1 million or $0.25 per share last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.19 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net interest income for the quarter fell to $45.1 million from $46.3 million last year, while analysts expected $47 million.

Other income rose to $2.3 million from $227 thousand in the year-ago quarter, the company said.

The company said it recorded no provision for loan loss, while in the prior year quarter, it incurred a provision of $5 million.
