Valero Energy Corp. Reveals 30% Rise In Q3 Earnings

(RTTNews) - Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) reported earnings for its third quarter that rose from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $1.38 billion, or $2.79 per share. This was up from $1.06 billion, or $2.00 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.66 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 34.4% to $22.58 billion. This was down from $34.41 billion last year.
