Valero Energy Corp. Q3 Income Rises 47%

(RTTNews) - Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) released a profit for its third quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $841 million, or $1.91 per share. This was higher than $571 million, or $1.24 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.83 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 99.9% to $23.56 million. This was down from $19.65 billion last year.
