Univision Conducted Preliminary Sale Talks With CBS, Time Warner: WSJ

(RTTNews) - The owners of Univision Communications Inc. have conducted preliminary talks with several media houses, including CBS Corp. (CBS-A, CBS) and Time Warner Inc., (TWX), as they seek to exit the broadcaster, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

Univision is controlled by a consortium of investors including billionaire Haim Saban. The consortium bought Univision for $13.7 billion in 2007, which included debt.

The owners are now said to be seeking more than $20 billion for the company.

Univision is a major player in the Spanish-language broadcasting in the U.S. Its owners were expected to take the company public in 2015, thus exiting it, but those plans are not yet fixed.
