TSX Inches Higher, Extends Win Streak -- Canadian Commentary

(RTTNews) - Canadian stocks were slightly higher Tuesday, adding to gains from the previous few sessions.

The S&P/TSX Composite Index was up 17 points to 14,812, edging closer to yearly highs seen earlier this summer.

Canadian pipeline operator Enbridge (ENB.TO) is buying Spectra Energy in a stock-for-stock merger transaction valued at C$37 billion. Enbridge rose 3.8 percent.

after an unofficial agreement by Saudi Arabia and Russia to help stabilize oil prices.

Meanwhile, Bombardier (BBD.B.TO) has cut its CSeries delivery forecast from 15 to 7 aircraft. Shares were flat.
