TransDigm Group To Acquire Airborne Systems For About $250 Mln In Cash

(RTTNews) - TransDigm Group Inc. (TDG) said Monday that it agreed to acquire Airborne Systems Inc., which is owned by Metalmark Capital, for about $250 million in cash.

The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of fiscal 2014. It is subject to review under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act and other customary closing conditions.

Airborne Systems's revenues for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2013 were approximately $160 million. Roughly 45% of Airborne Systems' revenue came from domestic customers and 55% from international customers.

Airborne Systems is a designer and manufacturer of personnel parachutes, cargo aerial delivery systems, emergency escape systems, naval decoys and other related products.
