The VWR Foundation Advances Science with $97,000 in Fourth Quarter Grants

RADNOR, Pa., Dec. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The VWR Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to giving back to the science community, distributed 12 grants totaling over $97,000 during the fourth quarter. The Foundation supports organizations and programs aligned with its three strategic priorities: research, health and well-being, and science education. 

Among the grant recipients was Seeding Labs, whose mission is to equip all scientists with the tools, training, and connections they need to be on the cutting edge of global discovery. The VWR Foundation's grant will provide funds to source and purchase lab equipment needed for infectious disease research in Cameroon.

"The funds will be instrumental in enabling the research of one of our partner scientists in Cameroon, Dr. Fabrice Boyom. These tools will allow Dr. Boyom to use his talents to the fullest and address some of the world's most pressing neglected tropical diseases that are endemic to his home country.
