The North American Coal Corporation Reports Exemplary 2004 Safety Results; 2004 Results Demonstrate Company's Safety Accomplishments

    DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2005--The North American Coal Corporation reports another year of excellent safety performance results. The company's Florida limerock mining operations, Coteau Mine, Red Hills Mine, Red River Mine and Sabine Mine reported no lost time accidents (LTA) for 2004. North American Coal's Falkirk Mine and San Miguel Mine reported only one LTA each. The company reported a total of 2,500,955 man hours worked for 2004, with an overall LTA average of 0.16, compared with the national average of 1.75.
