The Hartford Names Andrew J. Pinkes Acting Head of Commercial Markets

The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: HIG) today announced that it has named Andrew J. Pinkes acting head of Commercial Markets. Pinkes will report to the company’s Chairman, President and CEO Liam E. McGee. He succeeds Juan C. Andrade who is leaving The Hartford to pursue a global opportunity at another company.

With nearly 20 years of broad experience and deep knowledge of the insurance industry, Pinkes currently serves as executive vice president for Consumer and Commercial Markets Claims. He is also president of Heritage Holdings, Inc., the company’s domestic and international P&C legacy operations. Pinkes joined The Hartford in 2003. He began his insurance career with Travelers.

Pinkes earned a bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College and earned his J.D. from Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Mass.

The Hartford has begun the process of identifying a permanent leader for the business and is considering both internal and external candidates.
