TaxAct Offers $100k Accuracy Guarantee & Maximum Refund Pledge
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, Jan. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- TaxAct announces that taxpayers who use any of its 2017 consumer digital and download do-it-yourself (DIY) tax software products to electronically file their 2017 tax returns can benefit from the company's new $100k Accuracy Guarantee and Maximum Refund Pledge.
TaxAct guarantees their software is 100% accurate and gets taxpayers their maximum refund. If an error in any of TaxAct's 2017 consumer DIY solutions—TaxAct Free®, TaxAct Basic®, TaxAct Plus®, TaxAct Freelancer®, and TaxAct Premium®—results in a smaller refund or higher tax liability for 2017 than what a taxpayer would lawfully receive with another tax preparation product using the same data, then TaxAct will refund the software fees and pay the difference up to $100,000. In addition, if an error in the software causes product users to be audited by federal or state tax authorities and, as a result, they incur penalties or interest, TaxAct will reimburse the software fees and pay up to $100,000 to cover documented audit-related costs.
Other DIY tax software providers only refund their software fees if a customer receives a smaller refund or higher tax liability using their products compared to a competitor's product using the same data. However, they do not pay the difference, which makes TaxAct's $100k Accuracy Guarantee and Maximum Refund Pledge the strongest in the industry.

"We put our money where our mouth is when we tout the accuracy, convenience, and customization of our e-filing solutions, which gives customers the ultimate peace of mind when it comes to their tax return."
