Take Care Health Systems Launches ''We Love NPs'' Campaign in Celebration of National Nurse Practitioner Week
Take Care Health Systems, one of the largest managers of convenient care
clinics and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Walgreens (NYSE, NASDAQ: WAG),
has launched a three-week "We Love NPs”
campaign celebrating nurse practitioners across the country, and is
awarding one NP a $2,500 gift. The campaign kick-off corresponds with
National Nurse Practitioner Week November 11-17 and runs through the end
of the month.
"Nurse practitioners are the core of Take Care
Health Systems. They provide the high-quality health care our patients
demand and receive every day at our 85 clinics nationwide,”
said Sandy Ryan, Chief Nurse Practitioner Officer for Take Care Health
Systems. "The ‘We
Love NPs’ campaign is a national program to
commend each and every NP for their advocacy on behalf of patients and
their passion for providing accessible care.”
Nurse practitioners from across the country can register to win a $2,500
American Express gift card, a special "thank
you” for a job well done, at www.WeLoveNPs.com.
Entries are due November 30, 2007. One lucky winner will be chosen the
week of December 3.
"For more than 40 years nurse practitioners
have served their communities, and now more than ever NPs are recognized
as a vital part of the solution to the lack of affordable, accessible,
high-quality care in the U.S. healthcare system,”
said Dr. Loretta C. Ford, co-founder of the first NP program and pioneer
in its development. "Take Care Health Systems
is taking a leadership role in recognizing NPs by assimilating nursing
leadership into the strategy of its organization and placing NPs at the
forefront of the convenient care industry.”
Take Care Health Clinics are staffed primarily by certified family nurse
practitioners – registered nurses with
advanced education and training – who treat
patients 18 months and older for common illnesses such as strep throat,
ear and sinus infections, pink eye and poison ivy, and are licensed to
write prescriptions that can be filled at the patient’s
pharmacy of choice. Take Care Nurse Practitioners provide diagnostic
screenings; school, sports and camp physicals; and offer vaccinations
for flu, hepatitis B, meningitis and tetanus.
Take Care Health Systems currently employs 359 nurse practitioners at 85
Take Care Health Clinics in Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston,
Kansas City, Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh and St. Louis. Take Care
Health Systems plans to have more than 100 clinics open at Walgreens
drugstores by the end of 2007 and more than 400 clinics by the end of
2008.
