Taco Bell Serving Up Breakfast Biscuit Tacos

(RTTNews) - Fast-food chain Taco Bell is reportedly expanding its breakfast menu, with the announcement of its new biscuit tacos which wrap taco-shaped biscuits around a range of filling options including chicken and gravy.

The taco biscuits will be available starting Thursday and will replace the waffle taco which was introduced last year.

The new breakfast item will be a warm, buttery biscuit, folded in the shape of a taco, with filling options including eggs, sausage, cheese, or deep-fried chicken with a jalapeño honey sauce. The sandwich will contain between 370 and 470 calories.

The introduction of biscuit taco comes as fast food chains try to attract breakfast customers and stave off competition.

The Yum Brands chain is also said to be experimenting with smaller breakfast bites at select outlets.

Meanwhile, McDonald's, in response to competition in the breakfast menu space, has been re-branding its breakfast options. As per reports, the restaurant chain's new market campaign highlights the usage of fresh eggs in their Egg McMuffins, as well as other fresh ingredients.
