Taco Bell Appoints Brian Niccol As CEO, Effective January 1, 2015 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Taco Bell Corp., a division of Yum! Brands, Inc. (YUM) announced that Brian Niccol will be promoted to chief executive officer on January 1, 2015.

The company said Niccol, who currently serves as president, Taco Bell U.S., will become the brand's next CEO as current Taco Bell CEO Greg Creed will become CEO of Yum! Brands, Inc. effective the same date.

In this role, Niccol will be responsible for driving overall brand strategy and performance of the business in the U.S. and internationally, including doubling system sales for the 10-year period ending 2022 and opening 2,000 new restaurants, Taco Bell sated.

The company noted that prior to serving as president of Taco Bell U.S., he served as chief marketing and innovation officer or CMIO, of the nation's leading Mexican-inspired Quick Service Restaurant brand. Under his leadership, Taco Bell put a renewed focus on brand relevance through digital, social, mobile technology and culture.
