Chuck Egress, group product manager at Symantec, will provide guidance on how the hosted mail security solution assists customers by reducing the burden on IT administrators associated with managing on-premise email security solutions and allows companies to deploy their resources more effectively. Egress will also discuss how Symantec Hosted Mail Security helps customers preserve their email infrastructures by allowing only filtered email that is free of spam and viruses to reach corporate email servers.
"Customers are demanding a variety of solution form factors to best address their email security issues," said Egress. "The introduction of Symantec Hosted Mail Security now gives customers the flexibility to choose between Symantec's software-based, appliance-based and hosted mail security solutions."
Symantec Hosted Mail Security incorporates Symantec's market-leading anti-spam and antivirus technologies, backed by Symantec Security Response, in a hosted environment. The solution delivers customer confidence for the most effective spam volume reduction and accurate threat protection of business critical email without requiring on-site hardware or ongoing administration. In addition, the solution features flexible, policy-based filtering controls for attachment blocking, subject and message body filtering and encrypted file handling to protect against zero-day attacks and prevent the loss of confidential data. The content compliance functionality makes it easy for organizations to control sensitive email content and enforce corporate email policies, reduce legal liability and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
