StubHub to Add Georgia and Virginia Tech to Collegiate Roster
StubHub, the world's largest ticket marketplace, announced today that it will be adding two new major college athletic programs to its partnership roster, facilitated through an existing partnership with ISP Sports. Effective July 1, 2010, StubHub will become the Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace for the University of Georgia and Virginia Tech athletic programs for the 2010-2011 seasons and beyond.
StubHub’s marketplace provides college sports fans with a trusted online destination where tickets can be exchanged in a safe and convenient environment, backed by StubHub’s industry-leading FanProtect guarantee. With the two new partnerships, StubHub is now the official secondary ticketing partner for 16 NCAA university properties nationwide.
"StubHub highly values our collegiate partners and we see tremendous opportunity for continued growth in the sector,” said StubHub’s Danielle Maged, head of partnerships and business development. "Georgia joins our long-standing partner, Alabama, as we expand within the SEC, and we are equally excited with our first inroads into the ACC with Virginia Tech.”
As the country’s largest and fastest growing multimedia rights holder, ISP Sports serves as an active partner with more than 50 of America’s leading universities, four major conferences, three postseason bowl games and two venues.
"The popularity of college sports has never been stronger, and our partnership with StubHub will help provide fans with incredible choice and access for event tickets to two of the most exciting college sports programs in the nation,” said Ben Sutton, Chairman and CEO of ISP Sports. "By combining StubHub’s outstanding ticket platform with ISP’s unparalleled working collegiate relationships, we are embarking on a groundbreaking partnership that truly benefits each school and its dedicated fans.”
StubHub marketing assets will be consistent and highly visible across both universities, including in-game signage and features, hospitality events, radio exposure, dedicated emails, and online creative elements.
"StubHub is a trusted partner in the secondary market; their platform and services will safely allow Georgia fans who can't use their tickets to easily find other Bulldogs who would love to join us in Athens or on the road,” said Damon Evans, Director of Athletics for Georgia. "We look forward to bringing more fans to more events, and we’re confident that the benefits of this partnership will extend to fans immediately.”
"Partnering with StubHub will allow our fans even more opportunities to secure tickets and enjoy the game experience here in Blacksburg or out on the road following the Hokies,” said Jim Weaver, Director of Athletics for Virginia Tech. "We are proud to partner with the industry leader in the secondary ticket market and StubHub will offer a great compliment to our existing internal ticketing platforms. StubHub will provide our fans with a secure, reliable and safe environment in which they can sell and buy tickets.”
In addition to the broad marketing assets provided through ISP, StubHub is also supporting the new partnerships through media exposure on Comcast Sports Southeast, most notably will be set coverage during ‘Gameday on Location’ for the Florida vs. Georgia Football Classic on Oct. 30.
