Stryker Corp. Profit Rises 17% In Q2

(RTTNews) - Stryker Corp. (SYK) announced earnings for its second quarter that climbed from last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $1.88 billion, or $1.39 per share. This was up from $1.61 billion, or $1.20 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.37 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 16.9% to $2.84 billion. This was up from $2.43 billion last year.
