Stacy Fuller and Andrew Reinsdorf Join Washington Office of The DIRECT

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 23, 2005--The DIRECTV Group, Inc. (NYSE:DTV) today announced the appointment of Stacy Fuller as vice president of Regulatory Affairs and Andrew Reinsdorf as vice president of Government Affairs. Based in Washington, D.C., they will both report to Susan Eid, head of Government Affairs for The DIRECTV Group.
"Stacy and Andrew bring to DIRECTV a unique skill set of extensive legal and legislative experience, background in the television industry, and, ultimately, thorough knowledge of the ways of Washington," said Eid. "Not only will their appointments give DIRECTV a more significant presence in Washington, their experience and backgrounds will benefit us in the critical legislative and regulatory issues we face."
Ms. Fuller will be responsible for pursuing DIRECTV's regulatory policy objectives before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Mr. Reinsdorf will be responsible for DIRECTV's Capitol Hill lobbying efforts. Ms. Fuller's and Mr. Reinsdorf's appointments are effective March 7.

From August 2001 through February 2005, Ms. Fuller served as Media Legal Advisor to FCC Commissioner Kathleen Abernathy in all areas of media, including broadcast ownership and digital television transition. She served as Associate, Communications and Public Policy for the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP from June 2000 to August 2001. Prior to joining Skadden, Arps, Ms. Fuller served in progressively responsible legal positions for Discovery Communications, Inc.
Mr. Reinsdorf joined the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in 1997 as Director of Government Relations. He was promoted to Vice President in 2001 and Senior Vice President in 2003. During his tenure at NAB, he was responsible for implementing the association's legislative strategy and worked on broadcast television issues such as broadcasters' transition to digital television, the Satellite Home Viewer Improvement Act, and spectrum licensing fees. Prior to joining the NAB, Mr. Reinsdorf served as Manager, Government Relations for Nestle USA, Inc. in Washington, D.C.
