Spirent Communications E-Series Field Test Units Now Available at Online Company Store Field Technicians Can Purchase Spirent Test Units Directly from Manufacturer at www.shop.spirentcom.com
Field technicians across North America can quickly and easily obtain a Spirent test unit by ordering directly from the company's new Field Test Solutions online store: www.shop.spirentcom.com.
Spirent Communications(TM) (LSE:SPT; NYSE:SPM), a worldwide supplier of telecommunications field testers, today announced that Spirent's E-Series Field Test Units now are available online. Today, there are more than 200,000 Spirent field testers deployed worldwide to handle field installation and maintenance requirements of telecommunications networks.
Spirent's E-Series testers support the increasing demands made on today's local-loop infrastructure, including faster deployment of new broadband services to more users through pre-service validation testing. The E-Series Time Domain Reflectometers (TDR) and Resistance Fault Locators (RFL) help locate and analyze line faults such as opens, shorts, intermittent and water ingress faults, and resistive faults such as earth or contact faults at any point in the local-loop access network, whether during construction or maintenance activities. This capability translates into improved repair time and a streamlined testing process.
"We are committed to providing field technicians with the tools and resources they need to complete their jobs quickly and successfully. With our new online store, we also are simplifying the purchasing process by enabling field technicians to purchase with ease directly from the manufacturer," said Jim McRae, managing director of Spirent's Field Test unit.
All major credit cards are accepted at the online store and products are typically shipped within three days of purchase. Customers receive e-mail order and delivery confirmations and can quickly view their order status using the site's online tracking capabilities.
The E-Series of single-function copper analysis testers perform TDR, RFL, and other copper fault analysis. The following products are available online now:
"Spirent has a long history of developing reliable copper testers worldwide and we are now continuing our growing presence in the North American handheld test market with a convenient method of direct distribution," concluded McRae.

The E-Series of single-function copper analysis testers perform TDR, RFL, and other copper fault analysis. The following products are available online now:
-- | Spirent E2740 Handheld ADSL Tester: The E2740 allows field technicians to install and troubleshoot ADSL services at various points in the network and enables technicians to verify service metrics without back-office assistance. |
-- | Spirent E2520 Handheld TDR Tester: A long-range, handheld time domain reflectometer that accurately locates faults on twisted pairs up to 9,800 feet away. The E2520 measures the length of cable and locates a variety of faults and conditions such as metallic shorts, metallic sheaths, crosses, metallic opens, resistive joints or splices, open sheaths, splits and re-splits, water ingress, bridge taps and load coils. |
-- | Spirent E2550 Handheld TDR Tester: A long-range, battery-powered time domain reflectometer that accurately locates faults on twisted, coaxial, and power cables. Common network faults such as shorts, opens and water ingress faults are all easy to find with this unit. |
-- | Spirent E2570 Combined TDR/RFL Handheld Tester: A unique, battery-powered test instrument that combines the power of a voltmeter, a TDR, insulation resistance, and RFL. With this series of measurements, field technicians can quickly locate typical line faults such as opens, shorts, and poor joints and locate high-resistance insulation faults, including ground and battery contacts. |
-- | Spirent E2770 Advanced Handheld TDR Tester: One of the industry's longest-range handheld devices--with a range of 52,000 feet. The E2770 has a resolution of .05 percent of range for locating faults on twisted, coaxial, power and armored cables. |
-- | Spirent E2020 Handheld RFL Tester: A resistance fault locator that quickly and accurately finds high-resistive faults such as ground and contact faults. Field technicians can use the E2020 to perform additional measurements such as loop and insulation resistance measurements. The E2020 is ideal for locating resistive faults that are not easily identified with a TDR. |
"Spirent has a long history of developing reliable copper testers worldwide and we are now continuing our growing presence in the North American handheld test market with a convenient method of direct distribution," concluded McRae.
