Spectra Energy Q3 Profit Falls, But Tops View

(RTTNews) - Spectra Energy Corp. (SE) Wednesday said its third-quarter net income-controlling interests dropped to $174 million from $201 million. Earnings per share fell to $0.26 from $0.30.

Ongoing net income from controlling interests was $0.23 per share, while it totaled $0.31 per share in the previous year. On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.22 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Operating revenues fell to $1.103 billion from $1.207 billion. Analysts expected revenues of $1.29 billion.

Further, the company said third-quarter dividend was $0.37 per share, up 10 percent from last year.
