Spectra Energy Corp. Q2 Income Climbs 8%

(RTTNews) - Spectra Energy Corp. (SE) released a profit for its second quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $169 million, or $0.24 per share. This was higher than $156 million, or $0.23 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.27 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 2.5% to $1.16 billion. This was down from $1.19 billion last year.
