Sorin Group: 2013-2018 Strategic Plan

Sorin S.p.A. (MIL:SRN) Board of Directors approved the 2013-2018 Strategic Plan. Sorin Group’s Plan focuses on the implementation of the Company’s medium-long term strategy.

The revenue targets in the 2013-2018 period by business units are the following:

• Expected revenue growth for the Cardiac Surgery Business Unit of 4-6%^* CAGR;
• Expected revenue growth for the Cardiac Rhythm Management Business Unit of 2-3%* CAGR.

These targets will be met thanks to the launch and roll-out of new products (including, among others, the new family of adult oxygenators Inspire^TM, the sutureless valve Perceval^TM, the MRI-compatible pacemaker KORA^TM and the Platinium^TM platform for CRM devices) and to the continued geographic expansion in Emerging markets. With regard to Emerging markets, the Company initiated a greenfield project for the local manufacturing of Cardiopulmonary disposable products in Suzhou Industrial Park in China.

In addition to Sorin’s base business, the Company expects additional revenues from New Ventures, which includes the growth platforms addressing heart failure and mitral valve regurgitation, of approximately €70-90 million in 2018. The Company will leverage its strong balance sheet to fund these additional growth opportunities.

Sorin Group expects consolidated revenues to grow 3-5%^* CAGR during the 2013-2016 period, further accelerating, thanks to New Ventures, to 8-10% CAGR in the 2016-2018 period. Earnings per Share (EPS) for the base business are expected to reach over €0.20 in 2018, representing more than a 10% increase per year.
