Silicon Laboratories Adds Additional Sales and Operations Expertise to Drive Aggressive Growth in Europe

    AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 2005--Silicon Laboratories Inc. (Nasdaq:SLAB), a leader in high-performance, analog-intensive, mixed-signal IC innovation, today announced that Kurt Hoff has joined Silicon Laboratories' as vice president of European sales and operations based in the company's Paris office. Mr. Hoff brings more than 20 years of industry experience to Silicon Laboratories including leadership roles at Cognio, Motorola/C-Port, Philsar and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

    Prior to joining Silicon Laboratories, Mr. Hoff served as president, chief executive officer and director of Cognio, a leading spectrum management company, where he raised more than $25 million in U.S. and European venture capital. Mr. Hoff also managed the operations and sales of C-Port Corporation, the wholly owned network processor subsidiary acquired by Motorola in May 2000. Additionally, Mr. Hoff spent 10 years at AMD in sales where he managed operations of $500 million servicing large communications multinationals such as Lucent, Nortel and Alcatel. Mr. Hoff holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago and a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Illinois.
