Sierra Wireless Works With Wireless Industry Leaders To Demonstrate A

    HSDPA-enabled wireless network cards, solutions for mobile professionals, smartphone applications and a fleet management application featured at North America's largest wireless industry event

    Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ:SWIR)(TSX:SW) today announced that the company and several of its industry partners will be showcasing innovative wireless solutions for mobile professionals at CTIA Wireless, March 14 to 17 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, in booth #3854.

    Sierra Wireless is pleased to be working with several partners, including Falcom USA, Citrix Systems, and the Institute of Information Technology, to display a variety of applications for the company's products on the show floor. Falcom USA is demonstrating its new SAMBA 3G USB wireless modem in the Sierra Wireless booth. The SAMBA 3G connects to a computer via the USB port and utilizes the Sierra Wireless EM5625 embedded module for EV-DO connectivity, providing wireless access to the Internet and email at rates of 300-500 kbps, similar to those of broadband connections.

    Also in the Sierra Wireless booth, the Institute of Information Technology, Inc., (IIT) will demonstrate its eRouteTracker(TM) software, using the Sierra Wireless MP 775 rugged wireless modem for EDGE networks. With the MP 775 mounted in a moving vehicle, eRouteTracker can display the vehicle's location, speed, and distance traveled, with updates every three seconds. Customers can set up alarms to trigger for events such as an airbag deploying or the vehicle exceeding a preset speed.

    AirCard 775

    As a simple way to stay productive on the road, Sierra Wireless will demonstrate Citrix(R) GoToMeeting(TM) with the Sierra Wireless AirCard 775 wireless network card for EDGE networks. Citrix GoToMeeting (www.gotomeeting.com) is the easy-to-use, secure and fast online meeting solution for presenting and sharing information from any connection. With the AirCard 775 operating on an EDGE network and Citrix GoToMeeting, mobile professionals have the freedom to conduct sales and product demonstrations, provide online training, and collaborate with others from any notebook PC. Demonstrations of GoToMeeting with the AirCard 775 will take place in the Cingular booth (#545) and in the Sierra Wireless booth. In addition, Citrix will utilize the Voq Professional Phone(TM) and Citrix Access Infrastructure to demonstrate secure, real-time access to corporate email as well as the ability to view and send documents stored on the network.

    AirCard 580

    Sierra Wireless and Sprint recently announced that the EV-DO-ready Sprint PCS Connection Card(TM) by Sierra Wireless (AirCard 580) is now available through Sprint's business sales channels. Sprint will demonstrate the AirCard 580 in booth #4163. Designed to operate on CDMA 1xEV-DO and 1xRTT networks, the AirCard 580 by Sierra Wireless will enable average user speeds of 300 to 500 kilobits per second and peak rates of up to 2.4 Mbps in EV-DO coverage areas, and is backwards compatible to 1xRTT speeds in areas where coverage is not available. Sprint plans to begin launching EV-DO service later this year.

    HSDPA

    Following recent successful live demonstrations with Nortel of the AirCard 850 wireless network cards for HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) networks at 3GSM World Congress, held in Cannes, France, in February, Nortel will again be demonstrating the card at CTIA in booth #3125. The AirCard 850 and the AirCard 860, which are identical except for the UMTS frequency bands on which they operate, will also be on display at the Sierra Wireless booth. The AirCard 850 and AirCard 860 wireless network cards are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2005.

    Voq Professional Phone(TM)

    The Voq Professional Phone will be featured in the CTIA Wireless Dream Home, a 7,000 square foot model home designed to showcase the wireless lifestyle with cutting edge wireless technology and to allow visitors to experience the full potential of wireless networks. The Voq Professional Phone is designed for mobile professionals and offers the best features of a mobile phone, messaging device, and a PDA. It offers a flip-open QWERTY thumbpad for quick text entry, and easy-to-use software solutions, including VoqMail(TM), a secure, Always There(TM) email application, and myVoq(TM), which enables predictive search, storage, and sending of information.
