Sephora Gets Set to Play Beauty Games

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Ever dreamed of owning your own Sephora store and filling it with all your favorite cosmetics brands? This November, beauty baronesses will have the chance to demonstrate their knowledge with just a roll of the dice and an Advance to GO card -- introducing MONOPOLY(R): Sephora Edition, the ultimate beauty board game.

"At Sephora, we're always looking to change the rules of the beauty game, so creating our very own version of MONOPOLY makes perfect sense," says Betsy Olum, Senior Vice President, Sephora Marketing. "We're thrilled to beautify an iconic classic, and ultimately the game allows our clients to experience Sephora and the world of beauty in a new and entertaining way."

Just in time for the holiday season, the beauty retailer and USAOPOLY, under license from Hasbro Properties Group, the intellectual property development arm of Hasbro, Inc. , have created a first-of-its-kind edition of the classic MONOPOLY game, but this time, strict beauty rules apply. Players GO TO JAIL for bad hair days, Advance to GO for getting a manicure, pay fines for streaky self tanner application, and purchase products with Beauty Bucks.

Sephora-Style Rules: * The object of the game is to own it all Sephora-style. Players vie to run the most successful Sephora store by filling it with the most beauty products, along with cast members, and essentials such as water and electricity. * To play the game, players buy beauty products to fill up their stores and just like the original, when players land on cosmetic properties owned by their opponents, rent must be paid. * When a player owns an entire cosmetic category, they can place Sephora Shopping Bags on their properties and eventually upgrade to Sephora Stores (based on their beauty authority of course!). * To win, players must bankrupt their opponents so that only one beauty- full Sephora store remains.

Of course, no Sephora store is complete without great beauty brands to fill it with. In this game, keep an eye out for Stila in Gloss Gardens, Make Up For Ever on Lipstick Lane, Nars on Cheek Street, Murad at Cleanser Crossing, and Bliss on Lotion Avenue. Players will also see CARGO, GoSMILE, Kinerase, Dr. Brandt, Anastasia, Oscar Blandi and many other beloved beauty brands to help them advance through the Beauty Bargain (Community Chest) and Beauty Dare (Chance) cards.

It's every beauty enthusiast's new favorite pastime and the ideal holiday gift for your best girlfriend! The MONOPOLY: Sephora Edition will be available from November 2006 through January 2007 at all Sephora stores and on Sephora.com for a suggested retail price of $45. Start playing beauty-full games!
