    Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

MUNICH, Germany & MONROVIA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2005--SeeBeyond (Nasdaq:SBYN), provider of the world's first fully Integrated Composite Application Network (SeeBeyond ICAN) suite for advanced integration and composite application solutions, and IT consulting and services company Softlab, today announced a strategic alliance whereby the two companies will offer complete integration solutions to companies in the banking, insurance, industrial and telecommunications sectors.
With an objective of optimizing the value-added processes spanning ERP, CRM and SCM, the alliance brings together core competencies of each company. SeeBeyond's unified, standards-based integration suite is complemented by the detailed implementation knowledge and many years of industry experience on the part of Softlab. The companies share joint customers including both HypoVereinsbank and the BMW Group.
"Together with SeeBeyond, we can offer customers a solution with extensive integration possibilities, one which optimizes business processes and drastically reduces project deployment times," said Martin Giebel, Corporate Director Alliances for Softlab. "On average, the proportion of integration tasks with ERP projects can be as high as 40 percent, with CRM projects around 40 percent, and in the SCM sector between 40 and 50 percent."
Through this alliance, Softlab and SeeBeyond are able to offer customers robust enterprise-scale integration solutions based on open standards. The solutions are both scalable and flexible, and can be adapted to individual requirements. A service-oriented architecture (SOA) supports the optimization of business processes and the ability to leverage existing IT investments.
"Thanks to the pre-compiled integration modules and standard interfaces of SeeBeyond's ICAN Suite, it is possible to reduce project durations by 30 percent," added Mr. Giebel.
"In Softlab we have found a partner intimately familiar with the business processes involved in the entire value chain and thus able to offer excellent consulting services to our joint customers," added Ian Hill, senior vice president and general manager of EMEA for SeeBeyond. "In addition, Softlab's expertise in the fields of integration and business process management, as well as industry experience, complement SeeBeyond when it comes to positioning, implementing and operating our technologies in complex project environments."
