Sears Holdings Reportedly Plans To File For Bankruptcy
(RTTNews) - Sears Holdings (SHLD) plans to file for bankruptcy protection late Sunday or early Monday, according to the reports citing people familiar with the matter.
As part of the bankruptcy plan, Sears will immediately close about 150 of its stores. It has approximately 700 stores, the reports said.
Meanwhile, the reports noted that Sears would aim to stay in operations through the holidays, during which it will seek a buyer.
The retailer has secured about $500 million to support its holiday operations, the reports said.
