S&P Dow Jones Indices Announces Changes to the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

A Substitution in the S&P/TSX Composite Index

TORONTO, May 4, 2018 /CNW/ - S&P Dow Jones Indices Canadian Index Services will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices:  

Choice Properties REIT (TSX:CHP.UN) and Canadian REIT (TSX:REF.UN) have finalized a combination transaction via a court-approved Plan of Arrangement. Choice Properties REIT has acquired Canadian REIT for a combination of cash and Choice Properties REIT units. On a pro-rated basis, Canadian REIT unitholders will receive, for each unit held, $CDN22.50 in cash and 2.4904 units of Choice Properties REIT.

Prior to the open of trading on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, Choice Properties REIT will replace Canadian REIT in all Canadian domestic S&P/TSX indices where Canadian REIT is a constituent.
