Ryanair January Traffic Rises, Load Factor Flat - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Irish low-cost airline Ryanair Holdings Plc. (RYA.L, RYAAY) Thursday reported that its traffic for the month of January grew 5 percent to 4.6 million from last year's 4.3 million. Load factor was 71 percent, same as last year.

The company said its annual traffic to January 2014 grew 3 percent to 81.6 million.

Ryanair's Robin Kiely said, "Ryanair carried 4.6m customers in January, thanks to the success of our lower fares, our easier to use website and customer service improvements including allocated seats from last Saturday (1 Feb) and use of personal electronic devices from today. Further improvements will be rolled out over the coming months as Ryanair continues to lower prices and improve our industry leading customer service."

Separately, Ryanair confirmed that all Ryanair customers may - with immediate effect - use their portable electronic devices or PEDs, including tablets, smartphones, e-readers and MP3 players, for the entire duration of their flight, once these devices are switched to 'flight mode' and all safety demos/briefings are observed.
