Rush Enterprises Results Top Estimates

(RTTNews) - Rush Enterprises Inc (RUSHA, RUSHB), an integrated retailer of commercial vehicles, on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $24.6 million or $0.60 per share compared with $14.9 million or $0.37 per share last year.

Revenues for the quarter were $1.32 billion compared with $925.2 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.52 per share on revenues of $1.24 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

For the full year 2015, Rush expects some strong demand for Class 8 trucks and Class 4-7 new truck sales. It also expects to benefit from its ability to offer a range of medium-duty product as fleets consolidate their supplier base.

However, the company cautioned that given the low oil prices, it sees early signs of softening truck and aftermarket parts sales to energy customers, but believes that lower fuel prices would benefit its customers broadly.
