Robert Krueger Elected to Viad Corp Board of Directors

Robert Krueger, former university professor, U.S. congressman, ambassador and U.S. senator, has been elected to the board of directors of Viad Corp (NYSE:VVI) as was announced by Paul B. Dykstra, Viad's chairman, president and chief executive officer. Dykstra said, "We are honored to have Bob Krueger join our distinguished board of directors. His accomplishments in energy economics, civil rights legislation and his work in Congress, the Senate and as a U.S. Ambassador will bring added experience to our board. We know that his work ethic and experience will complement the endeavors of our board members." During Krueger’s distinguished career, he won a seat in the U.S. Congress, served as U.S. Senator from Texas, served as chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission and held ambassadorships to Mexico (1978-1981), Burundi (1994-1996) and Botswana (1996-2000). In the field of academia, he was a professor, vice provost, and dean of the undergraduate college of Duke University, and has held visiting chaired professorships at University of Texas/LBJ School of Public Affairs, Rice University, and Southern Methodist University. He has taught as a Thompson Professor of Humanities at the University of Texas-Austin, at Texas State University as Distinguished Visiting Professor, and as Visiting Research Fellow of Merton College, Oxford University. Krueger holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University, a master of arts from Duke University, and master’s and doctorate degrees from Oxford University, England. He also has honorary doctorate degrees from University of Saint Thomas, Lycoming College, and Texas Lutheran University. He consults for several firms, especially those interested in international trade and U.S. government policy. Krueger also serves on a number of public service boards and advisory councils.
