Riverwalk Water Trolley Service Changing Temporarily Due to New River and Andrews Avenue Bridge Repairs
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Riverwalk Water Trolley service to Stops 1 (Esplanade Park) and 8 (Tarpon River) will be suspended from Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. to Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. due to the New River bridge staying locked in the down position for repairs being done by All Aboard Florida to prepare for Brightline passenger rail service.
In addition to the New River Bridge repairs, the Broward County Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will be performing bridge maintenance at the Andrews Avenue Bridge beginning Saturday, February 11, 2017, and concluding on or before Tuesday, February 21, 2017. During this time, the Riverwalk Water Trolley will not be able to travel its regular route and will not be providing service to Stops 2 (Riverfront Plaza) and 7 (South Andrews Business District West).

The Riverwalk Water Trolley, launched in 2014 in partnership with the City of Fort Lauderdale and Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, transports passengers across the New River. It stops at eight different points along the north and south banks of the river: Esplanade Park, Riverfront Plaza, Huizenga Plaza, Laura Ward Riverwalk Plaza, Smoker Park, South Andrews Business District East, South Andrews Business District West and Tarpon River.
