Rite Aid Opens in Waveland, MS and Westwego, LA; Rite Aid Continues to Serve Hurricane Victims' Needs

Rite Aid (NYSE, PCX:RAD) announced today that thecompany opened two Rite Aid sites on Wednesday, September 14 in thegreater New Orleans area that were affected by Hurricane Katrina.Twenty-five Rite Aid stores remain closed.

The Rite Aid store in Westwego, LA and a mobile trailer inWaveland, MS opened this morning and are serving the communities'prescription and merchandise needs. Exact addresses of the open sitesare below:

Rite Aid today also announced its participation in the federalgovernments' efforts to make hurricane evacuees medical informationavailable to doctors online. Starting yesterday, doctors in eightshelters could go to the Internet to search prescription drug recordsof evacuees.

Rite Aid customers can continue to donate funds to HurricaneKatrina relief by purchasing $1 Dollar relief certificates at any RiteAid store across the country. All funds raised will be donated to theAmerican Red Cross and designated to help the victims of HurricaneKatrina. The Rite Aid Foundation donated $250,000 to the American RedCross and in the first week of collections at Rite Aid stores,approximately $750,000 additional donations have been made.
