American and American Eagle are offering winter sale fares for travel throughout the continental United States and Hawaii, as well as to select international destinations, including points in Europe, Japan and Latin America.

Now is a perfect time to pack up and go. It's off-season at many vacation spots both here and abroad, meaning the crowds are thinner and prices are lower. And American's winter sale fares will definitely put an early "spring" in your wallet.

So ring in the new year and head for the hills ... or the beach ... or any number of exciting destinations around the world with a great fare on American Airlines and American Eagle.

Here are the highlights of American's and American Eagle's winter sale fares:

Fares do not include (a) a federal excise tax of $3.30 per U.S. domestic flight segment, defined as one takeoff and landing, of a passenger's itinerary; (b) up to $18 per round trip in local airport charges; and (c) September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement originating at a U.S. airport, up to $5 per one way or $10 per round trip. For international travel, government taxes and fees of up to $125, varying by destination, are not included and may vary slightly depending on currency exchange rates at the time of purchase.

For Europe travel: Tickets must be purchased at least seven days prior to departure or within three days of making reservations, whichever comes first, but not later than 11:59 p.m., Jan. 10, 2006 (Central Standard Time). Fares shown are valid for travel Monday-Wednesday for the United Kingdom, and Monday-Thursday for other destinations, with all travel originating through March 29, 2006 for the United Kingdom, and March 30, 2006 for other destinations, and all travel complete by April 26, 2006 for the United Kingdom, and April 27, 2006 for other destinations. Other travel days are available at additional cost. A Saturday-night minimum stay is required and a 30-day maximum stay is allowed.

For Japan travel: Tickets must be purchased at least seven days prior to departure or within three days of making reservations, whichever comes first, but not later than 11:59 p.m., Jan. 10, 2006 (Central Standard Time). Fares shown are valid for travel Monday-Thursday, with all travel originating through March 30, 2006, and all travel complete by April 27, 2006. Other travel days are available at additional cost. A six-day minimum stay is required and a 30-day maximum stay is allowed.

For Latin America travel: Tickets must be purchased at least seven days prior to departure or within three days of making reservations, whichever comes first, but not later than 11:59 p.m., Jan. 10, 2006 (Central Standard Time). Fares shown are valid for travel originating through March 25, 2006, and all travel complete by March 31, 2006. A Saturday-night minimum stay is required and a 30-day maximum stay is allowed. Travel from Uruguay to the United States is not valid Jan. 1-16, 2006, and travel from Brazil to the United States is not valid Jan. 1-20, 2006.

Advertised fares are valid only on American Airlines, American Eagle, and AmericanConnection(R) and do not apply to other codeshare flights. Seats are limited. Fares may not be available on all flights. Schedules are subject to change without notice.

Fares are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Changes to your ticket may be made if you cancel your reservation before the original departure time, meet the restrictions of the new fare, and pay up to a $100 change fee ($150 for Japan; $200 for Europe) plus any fare difference. When you cancel your ticketed flight prior to departure time, the ticket will be valid for one year from the date of issue on an unused ticket or one year from travel origination on a partially used ticket. If you do not cancel your flight before departure time, the ticket has no value.
