Report: Victoria's Secret Angels Flying Away Over Low Pay

(RTTNews) - Victoria's Secret "Angels" are ending their contracts due to increasing time commitments and relatively little pay, Page Six has reported, citing unidentified sources.

Newcomer Karlie Kloss and veteran Doutzen Kroes have left the brand, and more notable Angels could follow, the report said.

Kloss is leaving to study at New York University, while Kroes reportedly has lucrative opportunities in Europe. Remaining Angels include Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo, Lindsay Ellingson, Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge.

Victoria's Secret hires supermodels to act as "Angels" that represent the brand. They earn name and fame because of unprecedented exposure in the modelling industry, but their job is very much demanding.

"The money isn't what it used to be," Page Six quoted a source as saying. "Older contracts like Alessandra Ambrosio were in the millions, now they're like $100,000."

Victoria's Secret, which sells lingerie, womenswear and beauty products, is owned by L Brands, Inc. (LB). The Columbus, Ohio-based company yesterday reported a 15% rise in fourth quarter profit on 7% sales growth. The company's fourth quarter same-store sales increased 6%, including 4% at Victoria's Secret and 8% Bath & Body Works stores.
