Rent-A-Center Q2 Profit Down, Yet Beats View, Lifts FY13 Outlook - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Rent-A-Center, Inc. (RCII) Monday reported second-quarter profit of $42.0 million, down from $44.2 million in the same period last year. On a per-share basis, earnings improved to $0.76 from $0.74 last year.
On average, 10 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.75 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues totaled $760.5 million, up from $749.7 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $779.38 million.
Looking ahead, the company projects full-year 2013 earnings in the range of $3.03 to $3.15 per share, up from previous guidance range of $2.95 to $3.10 per share. Analysts currently expect full-year earnings of $3.08 per share.
The company also targets revenue growth of 3.0 percent. This compares to previous guidance range of 5 percent to 8 percent.
