RBC Bearings Q1 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - RBC Bearings Inc. (ROLL) Thursday posted higher earnings for the first quarter, as sales grew 10 percent year-over-year helped by a 19.3 percent increase in industrial sales and a 3.8 percent rise in aerospace and defense sales.

Net income for the first quarter of fiscal 2015 rose 6 percent to $16.0 million from $15.1 million for the same period last year. Earnings per share grew to $0.69 from $0.65 a year ago. On average, 6 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.70 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Quarterly sales improved to $113.0 million from $102.7 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2014. Analysts expected revenue of $112.93 million for the quarter.
