R.R. Donnelley Q4 Results Top Estimates; Outlook Upbeat

(RTTNews) - R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. (RRD) reported net income for the fourth quarter of $104.0 million or $0.56 per share, compared to a net loss of $849.0 million, or $4.70 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the fourth quarter was $89.8 million or $0.49 per share, compared to $78.1 million or $0.43 per share in the prior year quarter.

Fourth-quarter net sales grew 3.6% to $2.76 billion from $2.66 billion a year ago. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.38 per share on revenue of $2.68 billion for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking forward, the company forecasts full year 2014 net sales of $11.5 billion to $11.7 billion. Analysts currently expect the company to post revenue of $10.47 billion for the full year 2014.
