Quovadx and Healthvision Join Forces to Offer a Real-time, Point-of-Care Clinical Data Access Solution New Program Offers Easy Clinical Data Access to QUOVADX(TM) Customers Using Cloverleaf(R) Integration Services
Quovadx, Inc. (Nasdaq:QVDX), a global software and vertical solutions company that helps healthcare organizations develop, extend and integrate data and applications today announced it has joined forces with Healthvision Inc., a leading healthcare Internet company.
The alliance permits both Healthvision and QUOVADX(TM) customers to quickly launch a customized, user-friendly clinician portal and mobile solution that allows real-time data sharing throughout a healthcare organization by connecting its various internal systems. QUOVADX customers using Cloverleaf(R) Integration Services, a top ranked KLAS interface engine and a component of the Cloverleaf(R) Integration Suite, are already experiencing the benefits of connecting disparate systems and sharing data.
"This new relationship provides another opportunity for Quovadx's customers to quickly and easily leverage the valuable clinical data already available in their Cloverleaf(R) engine to rapidly deploy a Web-based portal for use by clinicians within their health system," said Mike Epplen, vice president of product management for the Integration Solution division, Quovadx. "We know that reliable access to clinical data at the point of care is a cornerstone of any strategy to improve quality and efficiency in healthcare delivery and we are excited to contribute this solution in further support of the goals established by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology's strategic framework."
Healthvision offers real-time clinical access to physicians so that patient information can be viewed when they need to make critical care management decisions. Healthvision solutions are available over the Internet to allow physicians access to information any time, anywhere using either a desktop computer or wireless device. Healthvision provides the e-Health interoperability platform that connects directly to an existing Cloverleaf engine to quickly and easily build the portal solution.
"The e-Health interoperability platform partnership with Quovadx means physicians will be able to access clinical information in real time from any mobile device or from any computer connected to the Internet via our Web-based clinical access application," said Stephanie Massengill, chief strategy officer for Healthvision.
Cloverleaf(R) customers can begin viewing clinical information in as little as 60 days through the new joint program. Hospitals using the system will be able to provide physicians access to information about their patients while they are administering care and making their rounds in the hospital. Using either their desktop PC or the Healthvision In-Patient Rounding handheld wireless tool, physicians are no longer restricted to a paper chart. In addition, many late night emergency calls can now be addressed by accessing the patient information from any PC securely connected to the internet.
"I think it is a great idea that two best-of-class vendors have come together to offer a quick and easy way to connect physicians to the hospital's systems. We have already invested in connecting our different databases using the Cloverleaf engine and Healthvision. These tools provide our physicians with excellent health data access so that we can provide the best possible care for our patients. Combining these two technologies provides seamless integration and permits our physicians to access their critical patient information," said David Bradshaw, vice president of marketing and communications and CIO for Memorial Herman Health System, a QUOVADX customer whose referring physicians also use the Healthvision Clinician Desktop solution.
The new joint program includes the e-Health interoperability platform along with a choice of the Clinician Desktop, In-Patient Rounding tool or both. Since the solution is being made available initially to current Cloverleaf customers, time to market is reduced and cost is slashed by more than half when compared to that of a traditional implementation.
