Quest Software's Newest Solution to Join the Toad Family

A recent survey of Quest Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:QSFT) customers revealed that nearly 60 percent of Toad® for Oracle users take advantage of the query and reporting features offered in the tool, and nearly 30 percent of respondents identified themselves as some sort of data analyst. In response to the needs of data analyst customers, Quest today announced the release of the newest member of the Toad family, Toad for Data Analysis. According to a recent report1 by Accenture, "Managers spend up to two hours a day searching for information, and more than 50 percent of the information they obtain has no value to them.” Further, 42 percent of respondents in the Accenture report said that at least once a week they accidentally use the wrong information. Using a workflow oriented approach, Toad for Data Analysis eliminates these types of frustrations by helping professionals find the correct data and create reports that help organizations make effective business decisions based on quantifiable information. Toad for Data Analysis gives professionals access and helps them understand data from multiple RDBMS (relational database management system) sources. Toad for Data Analysis is designed to operate on SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 and MySQL. In addition, it also supports ODBC (open database connectivity), enabling access to many other platforms such as Sybase and Teradata. Toad for Data Analysis also automates the process of querying and collecting data, thus reducing errors and eliminating redundant tasks. "Toad for Data Analysis is very user friendly,” said Judy McKay, a consultant and trainer for Skyforest Consulting. "The interface is intuitive and doesn’t require extensive training to use. It also decreases the number of tools needed to access SQL on a variety of platforms. It is a great addition to Toad for Oracle, which, in my opinion, is one of the most valuable tools in a software developer’s tool kit.” Pricing and Availability Toad for Data Analysis is now available as a stand alone product, with North American pricing starting at $870 (USD) per seat.
