Psytechnics and Micromuse Partner to Deliver the Industry's Only True Solution for Monitoring the End-User's Realtime Service Experience Integrated Solution to Be Demonstrated at 3GSM World Congress
Psytechnics, the global leader in voice and video quality assessment software, today announced its partnership with Micromuse (NASDAQ:MUSE), the leading provider of ultra-scalable, realtime business and service assurance software, to deliver a unique solution that will allow service providers to better visualize and manage their end-users' service experience. The combined solution, which includes Psytechnics patented technology, will enable Micromuse to offer customer-focused quality measurements for wireless and VoIP services as part of its comprehensive Netcool(R) solutions for service quality management.
"Psytechnics's voice and video quality assessment technology can be leveraged to enhance the Netcool suite's monitoring and management capabilities," said Darin Layman, Vice President of OEMs and Alliances at Micromuse. "The relationship between Micromuse and Psytechnics will enable us to offer our mutual service provider customers unparalleled visibility into the consumer experience."
The integrated solution will also help improve current service assurance systems by providing measurement of service quality as perceived by the end-user experience. This is achieved through Psytechnics' patented technology which assesses each call and accurately derives a quality value according to the Mean Opinion Score (MOS - ITU-P.800) measurement method.
"Voice quality is a key concern for any VoIP or wireless network customer today, and continual awareness of voice quality is critical to understanding the customer experience," said John Winchester, CEO of Psytechnics. "As service offerings and the networks that deliver them become increasingly complex, often it is the customer who is best suited to assess the quality of service. Our technology, built on extensive subjective testing, is able to accurately predict how a customer would rate each call."
Micromuse's Netcool solutions allow service providers to proactively manage their infrastructure from a single point and identify when and where faults occur with intelligent service assurance to help improve service quality and innovation. Netcool effectively powers comprehensive service quality management solutions for service providers by providing customer-centric end-to-end service level views across the complete network infrastructure. It measures QoS in realtime to ensure the network's compliance with SLAs, and notifies the service provider of service degradation before the problem interrupts service or breaches the SLA. Used by the world's top 20 leading telecommunications providers, Netcool solutions help reduce overall operations expenditures and minimize capital expenditures.
Psytechnics' products include PESQ, the ITU standard P.862 for voice quality measurement and diagnostics; NiQA, a non-intrusive method for measuring the voice quality of live customer traffic in fixed-line and wireless networks; and psyVoIP for passively measuring live voice quality in IP networks.
