Prudential Annuities Enhances Distribution Strategy; New National Sales Positions Focus on Independent Broker Dealer Channel, and Wirehouse and Bank Channels

Prudential Annuities, the domestic annuity business forPrudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU), announced today the creationof two new national sales positions that enhance the company'sdistribution focus on the Independent Broker Dealer channel, andWirehouse and Bank channels. Rick Singmaster, currently national salesmanager with Prudential Annuities, will assume the role of nationalsales director for the Independent Broker Dealer channel, and AlexMacGillivrary, who is newly appointed, will assume the role ofnational sales director for the Wirehouse and Bank channels. In theirnew positions, Singmaster and MacGillivrary will manage both theexternal and internal sales teams for their specific channels and willreport directly to Matthew Schiffman, executive vice president andhead of sales for Prudential Annuities.

"By enhancing our distribution strategy, we're sending the messageof an on-going commitment to the Independent Broker Dealer channel,and an expanded commitment to wirehouses and banks," said Schiffman."Asking Rick and Alex to lead their channels is a credit to theirrespective experience and expertise, and I expect their leadershipskills will position us for continued success in the marketplace."

Singmaster brings more than 20 years of financial servicesexperience to the new position. His first five years in the industrywere devoted to retail sales as a financial planner with a NationalAssociation of Securities Dealers (NASD) firm in Central Pennsylvania.Later in his career, as one of three original wholesalers at AmericanSkandia he raised more than $4 billion in assets.

MacGillivrary also brings more than 20 years of financial servicesexperience to the new position. Prior to joining Prudential Annuities,he was national sales manager for Lincoln Financial's independentchannel. Before that, MacGillivrary was president and chief executiveofficer for AXA Distributors, where he was responsible for the salesand marketing of all equitable-manufactured products.
