GONZALES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 4, 2005--The House of Nobilo, one of New Zealand's leading wineries, has just signed a contract with former professional golfer Frank Nobilo to serve as a Nobilo Brand Ambassador in the United States, promoting the brand and working with distributors.
This announcement was made on April 28th at a Pacific Wine Partners event at the New Zealand Embassy in Washington, D.C. Frank and his wife, Selena, attended this very special event.
"When we pour wine at events, consumers are always asking if the House of Nobilo has any relationship to Frank Nobilo, the golfer," said Nobilo Brand Manager Kimberly Ertl. "He is actually related to the founder of the Nobilo winery, and now we are making the connection even stronger by having him serve in an official capacity as a brand ambassador."
In his role as Nobilo Brand Ambassador, Frank will serve as a spokesman for the brand, pour at wine events, and help to develop golf-based distributor programs.
Frank Nobilo, while related to Nicolai Nobilo the winery's founder, is a native New Zealander and registered US Tour PGA player. Frank turned pro at the age of 19 and went on to win 14 times around the world including three times on U.S. soil -- the 1997 Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic and two Sarazen World Opens. He was a two-time New Zealand PGA champion and a three-time member of The Presidents Cup.
Frank is currently a commentator on the Golf Channel, serving as an analyst on the Champions Tour, on the panel at the Pregame and Postgame show, Leaderboard Report, and Golf Central.
"I've always been passionate about Nobilo wines because of their tremendous quality and how they capture the essence of New Zealand, which will always be home," said Frank Nobilo. "I look forward to sharing my passion for Nobilo and New Zealand with distributors and retailers in cities across the United States."
Nobilo is imported by Pacific Wine Partners, a Constellation Wines U.S. company and a leading producer of premium California wines and importer of wines from Australia and New Zealand. Constellation Wines U.S. is part of Constellation Wines, the world's largest wine business, an operating division of Constellation Brands, Inc. (NYSE:STZ)(NYSE:STZ.B) ("CBI").
