Proact IT Group: Attendo to Receive Virtualised Disk System from Proact
Regulatory News:
Proact (STO:PACT) is providing consultancy services to Attendo on its infrastructure and equipment acquisitions and the configuration of its EMC disk system. Attendo’s IT environment will be duplicated in addition to virtualisation. While implementing the virtualisation of its environment, Attendo has also replaced several of its other systems with a view to reinforcing the company’s internal policy, whereby many IT operations and services have been outsourced over time.
"Attendo has grown significantly, and acquisitions for each requirement have always been made quickly. It took time for us to see the big picture as we were working with a number of partners. We decided to begin reinforcing our internal policy, which involved us starting to manage several outsourced services ourselves,” says Esa Nurmio, IT specialist at Attendo.
Proact’s solution included mirrored EMC VNX disk systems as well as a VMware Horizon View environment with selected elements.
Attendo has more than 130 offices in Finland.
The company provides services such as care for the elderly, as well as mental health patients and the mentally impaired. Attendo’s services also include human resources and healthcare services as well as health services offered to municipalities. This is why a high level of data security must always be maintained for patient security.
"I chose Proact due to their outstanding technical expertise. I am responsible for server maintenance, networks and data security. Although I am very familiar with the technical side of the system environment, I want to use consultants whenever I need to. I need to understand the big picture and the strategies within the building, and resolving challenges in partnership with a technically strong consultant provides motivation.”
About Attendo
The biggest company in the field of health and care services in the Nordic countries was the culmination of a dream for its founders. The objective from the start has been to develop high quality, cost-effective services that enhance people’s health and wellbeing. The Finnish operation began in 2000 when four doctors founded MedOne, the company that preceded Attendo in Finland. This business expanded quickly, from covering on-call medical services to embracing a wider range of healthcare services.
Today, Attendo operates in more than 130 locations in Finland and in 70 locations in Sweden, and has expanded into Norway and Denmark as well. Attendo’s services are available all over Finland, from dispensary services to other basic healthcare, specialist care and versatile residential care services. Attendo operates as a partner in more than 80% of Finnish municipalities and employs around 6 000 staff.
