Prevezon Holdings, LLC Statement on Settlement with U.S. Government

MOSCOW, May 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Prevezon Holdings, LLC ("Prevezon") issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Government's agreement to dismiss its case and all claims in an asset forfeiture and money laundering action that was filed in September 2013:

We are pleased that the U.S. Government has agreed to drop its case against Prevezon, its principals and related entities and has agreed to release all of its claims or potential claims against Prevezon. Prevezon has also agreed to release all of its claims or any future claims against the U.S. Government related to this case.

From the outset, Prevezon and its owner Denis Katsyv have maintained their innocence and have repeatedly stated that they had no involvement in or knowledge of any fraudulent activities and never received any funds from any criminal activity.  

The U.S. Government brought this case without conducting any independent investigation, relying exclusively on the claims of William Browder, a convicted tax evader who CBS News reported in 2012 renounced his U.S. citizenship to avoid paying U.S. taxes. 

Prevezon agreed to settle the lawsuit without admitting any guilt for less than three percent of the amount initially sought by the U.S. Government to avoid the exorbitant costs of additional litigation.  Importantly, the U.S. Government has agreed that Prevezon's payment does not constitute a forfeiture or penalty long sought by the Government. 

Throughout this case, Prevezon and Mr. Katsyv have been appalled by the steady stream of false narratives in the U.S. media about this case, and look forward to resuming their legitimate business activities around the world.
