Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (GS) is gaining 0.73 percent to $164.19. The company's second quarter earnings doubled from the prior year period and topped Wall Street view. Net revenues surged and were above the consensus estimate.

Baidu, Inc. (BIDU) is rising 6 percent to $107.51. The company announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with NetDragon Websoft, Inc. as part of a proposal to acquire 100 percent of mobile app subsidiary 91 Wireless Websoft Ltd. for a total consideration of $1.90 billion.

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) is up nearly 1 percent to $91.20. The company's second quarter earnings surged from the prior year period and adjusted net earnings topped Street view. Sales rose 8.5 percent and managed to come above the consensus estimate. The company also raised its adjusted earnings per share guidance for 2013.

Decliners:

Coca-Cola Co. (KO) is falling more than 2 percent to $40.01. The company's second quarter profit declined from the year-ago quarter and its non-GAAP earnings per share matched Wall Street view. Net operating revenues for the quarter declined and missed the consensus estimate.

Liquidity Services, Inc. (LQDT) is sliding 12 percent to $28.49. The company lowered its third quarter adjusted earnings per share guidance and noted that its third quarter results were impacted by lower than expected GMV in its capital assets and retail supply chain verticals as a result of lower product flows from existing clients and slower than expected rollout of new client programs.

Trading halt:

Trading in shares of SHFL entertainment, Inc. (SHFL) was halted. Bally Technologies, Inc. (BYI) has agreed to acquire the company at a per share price of $23.25 in cash for a total consideration of approximately $1.3 billion.
