PotashCorp Q4 Profit Down - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Canadian fertilizer giant Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan, Inc. (POT, POT.TO) said its profit for the fourth quarter slid to $230 million or $0.26 per share from $421 million or $0.48 per share in the year-ago quarter.

The company said its recent-quarter results included a $60 million charge, or about $0.05 per share, for severance-related costs associated with workforce reductions announced in December.

For the fourth quarter, revenues totaled $1.54 billion, lower than last year's $1.64 billion.

Looking ahead, PotashCorp forecasts earnings per share in the range of $0.30-$0.35 for the first quarter and $1.40-$1.80 for the full year 2014.
