Polo Ralph Lauren Announces Appointment of John R. Alchin and Jackwyn Nemerov to Board of Directors

Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation (NYSE: RL) today announced the appointment of John R. Alchin, Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Financial Officer of Comcast Corporation, and Jackwyn Nemerov, Executive Vice President of Polo Ralph Lauren, to the Company’s Board of Directors, effective immediately. Their election brings the number of directors on the Company’s Board to 11. Since January 1990, Mr. Alchin has served as a Senior Vice President, Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Financial Officer of Comcast Corporation. His responsibilities include managing Comcast’s capital formation and treasury activities and he is also responsible for overseeing investor relations. Prior to joining Comcast in 1990, Mr. Alchin was a Managing Director of Toronto Dominion Bank. Mr. Alchin has been recognized twice by Institutional Investor magazine as being among "America’s Best CFOs.” He was also named Treasury and Risk Management magazine’s "CFO to Watch,” and, in 2004 received the CFO of the Year award from the Broadcast Cable Financial Management Association. Mr. Alchin is currently a member of the Board of Directors of BNY Hamilton Funds and the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern Pennsylvania. He also is an Advisory Board Member of MANNA (Metropolitan AIDS Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance), and a Vice Chairman of the Corporate Executive Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Ms. Nemerov has been an Executive Vice President at Polo Ralph Lauren since September 2004. She is responsible for the management of all men’s, women’s and children’s wholesale brands, licensed apparel and accessories, and manufacturing. Before joining Polo Ralph Lauren in 2004, Ms. Nemerov worked at Jones Apparel Group where she held a variety of executive positions including President and Chief Operating Officer.
